From CANVA to REALITY: Creating a Floral Moodboard for Tabitha and Chance Brown’s Fragrance Launch

The week of Tabitha and Chance Brown’s fragrance launch was truly one for the books!

I was not only prepping for my very first major home staging project (cue tears of joy, because dreams do come true!), but I also had the incredible honor of designing florals for Tab and Chance’s fragrance debut. Two huge milestones aligning in the universe, and honestly, I'm still a bit shook at how flawlessly everything fell into place!

Tab and Chance’s fragrance launch wasn’t just another event —

it was a celebration of love, legacy, and the beauty of being fully yourself.

I knew the flowers had to mirror that same vibe and spirit so I started working on my favorite tool to whip out when I plan any design.

MOODBOARDS!!!

They’re the secret sauce to any successful design. Let’s dive into how I brought the vision from Canva straight into reality, step by step.

THE PROCESS:

Because I wasn’t going to be involved in any parts of production, I had to get super organized. NO ROOM FOR GUESSING GAMES!

STEP #1: GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT

First things first, I sat down with Tyra from LeNoir Agency. Now, Tyra isn’t just any planner—she’s the Beyoncé of event planning, okay? We’ve collaborated on some extraordinary projects in the past, and every single time, magic happens! After our conversation, I had a crystal-clear picture of:

  • COLOR PALETTE: whites, golds, and brown neutrals

  • FLORAL STYLE VIBE: Contemporary with a whimsical charm

  • FLORAL NEEDS: Bud vases, small arrangements, large displays, museum boxes (very fancy), and of course—a fabulous photo moment

STEP #2: CHOOSE YOUR FLOWERS

Choosing flowers might sound like a walk in the park, but listen, when you’re dealing with unique colors like gold and brown, it can quickly feel like trying to find the perfect shade of foundation—tricky and sometimes requiring a creative hack or two! For the whites? Easy peasy—nature got us! But brown? Let's just say we had to get real innovative. And gold? You know it—hello, spray paint aisle!

  • I hopped onto Mayesh Flower Wholesale and Potomac Flower Wholesale online, checked out what was in season and saved all the dreamy images to my computer to craft my flower wish list (I use the images for both my presentation and renderings)

  • I checked in with all my vendors; making sure they had the flowers I needed and pricing (this will come in handy when budgeting and planning logistics, but we’ll talk numbers a different day!)

  • Pro-Tip: Physically visiting the flower market is always a good idea—it’s like window shopping for blooms and getting a full scope of what is available

STEP #3: CREATE YOUR RENDERINGS

Creating the rendering is the fun part for me! It literally allows me to bring my vision to life! Using the images of flowers I saved on my computer, I design the detailed 2D renderings using Canva. I love how Canva gives you the permission to let your creativity flow. I wanted my team to have a clear understanding of exactly what the designs should lookl like — the vibe, the color palette and textures.

I picked flowers that felt aligned and captured the event's essence:

  • Roses and Anthuriums representing timeless love with a fresh, modern twist

  • White Cherry Blossoms and Spirea bringing in the whimsical vibes

  • Spanish Moss grounding those earthy brown tones

  • Gold Fan Palms as our glam moment

Every flower, every texture was thoughtfully chosen—not just for aesthetics, but to weave together a story of love, legacy, and authenticity.

Once the renderings and logistics were buttoned up, it was time to pass the baton to my brilliant floral friends — Ana, Alfredo, Charlotte, Patrick, and Frank (honestly, the real MVPs!!). The level of detailed scheduling was no joke—deliveries, setups, every tiny detail covered. And then came the hardest part of all…

Letting Go...and trusting my amazing team to work their magic.

AND MAGIC THEY MADE!

This whole project taught me a lot about trusting my gut, mastering clear communication, and surrounding myself with people who not only understand the assignment but support the vision!

I’m so proud of how this came out, my amazing team for doing extraordinary work, proud of the growth and my small business showing up for big moments!
